About the writers:
Robert Kroese's first novel, Mercury Falls, is a humorous story about angels, linoleum and the
apocalypse. The sequel, Mercury Rises, was published in 2011. Mercury Rests, the final installment
in the Mercury series, is due out from 47North in October. www.robertkroese.com
Robin Beeman is the author of A Parallel Life and Other Stories, A Minus Tide, and The Lost Art of
Desire. Her work has appeared in many publications and was recently performed by Petaluma
Readers Theatre. She's taught Creative Writing at Sonoma State and other places. She lives in
Sebastopol.
Becca Lawton writes about nature, human and otherwise. Her writing honors include the inaugural
Ellen Meloy Fund Award for Desert Writers and three Pushcart Prize nominations. Reading Water:
Lessons from the River was a SF Chronicle Bestseller and she has published in Orion, THEMA,
Shenandoah, Sierra, SF Chronicle Magazine. Her fifth book, Sacrament, a collaboration with
photographer Geoff Fricker, will be out from Heyday Press in 2013. www.beccalawton.com
Shana Mahaffey is the author of the debut novel, Sounds Like Crazy (NAL/Penguin). She is a
member of the Sanchez Grotto Annex. Her work has appeared in SoMa Literary Review, Sunset

Kenna Lee is a part-time environmental activist, full-time hospice nurse, and all-the-time mother. A
