LATEST NEWS WISCONSIN RANKED #13 IN SITE SELECTION’S 2012 LIST OF “TOP U.S. BUSINESS CLIMATES” Madison—Site Selection magazine ranked Wisconsin the 13th best state in its 2012 list of “Top U.S. Business Climates” published in the November issue. For the first time since 1998, Wisconsin is ranked among the top 25 states. In 1998, Wisconsin was tied for 19th place. “Our focus is on job creation, and we want business owners to know that Wisconsin is a great place to start, expand, or relocate your company,” Governor Walker said. “This ranking is a reflection of the actions we are taking to make sure our friends, family members, and neighbors, who have been struggling since 2008, can get good, family-supporting jobs. Site Selection’s review shows we are heading in the right direction.” “It is heart wrenching to see the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy,” said Governor Scott Walker. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims as they recover from this devastating storm, and we are proud of Wisconsinites and Wisconsin companies stepping up to help out their fellow Americans during this time of need.” "Wisconsin's outstanding National Guard is ready to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy," Gov. Walker said. "As our nation braces for this massive storm, Wisconsin is hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. If resources are needed, Wisconsin stands ready to deploy the National Guard for assistance."
