Parsed XML Project
The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a flexible data representation format widely used for data exchange. Adding XML support to Zope allows for another standard interchange format bewteen Zope and non-Zope applications.
This Wiki branch documents the design, implementation, testing and usage of the first step in XML integration into Zope, the Parsed XML product. It is the successor to XMLDocument.
Parsed XML is a fast and efficient DOM storage object with a set of proxy objects that provide Zope management and publishibility (and also proxy the DOM interface). The project also includes a parser/builder, XML printer, DOM Traversal interface, and complete DOM test suite, all of which are used by the ParsedXML proxy objects. With the exception of the builder, all should be useable by other DOM implementations.
