Earlier today I stumbled upon this viral marketing flash game for Ubisoft’s 2003 masterpiece “Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time“.
Viral ads are usually fun for all of 30 seconds, but this one is different. It’s a mini-game in which you must guide our hero to stop the evil Vizier from releasing the Sands of Time.
The best thing, however, is that the game takes the form of the original Prince of Persia game!
There’s an eight minute time limit in which to accomplish your task, so you’d better haul some ass if you’re to succeed.
So you see, this viral ad is 16 times more fun than your average ad! Unfortunately I’ve always been cack at the old style Prince of Persia games, so I can’t tell you much about the game. In fact it took an earth-shattering two minutes and twenty six seconds before I was cloven in twain:
Never mind… Surely you can do better…
Regular service to resume shortly. And that includes swearing.
Great advertising idea, im suprised more old games are not released in “Flash” for the new generation of gamers.
Hm.. original price hero sprite much better imho!
a) Welcome back!
b) This is excellent! really… just can’t understand why they used the Prince of Persia 2 sprite instead of the (dressed in white) original…
