Wasted and ready

Happy VD, kids! Just sitting here buzzed on SoCo kindly donated by the chewtoy (haaaay boy), cranking up Ben Kweller as I woozily slug my way through final prep for the 'WYG's big anniversary show.

Are you coming? To the show, I mean. All the advance tickets are sold out (there will be a few available at the P.S. 122 box office tomorrow when it opens at 4pm, though). So if you're in New York and want to go, try that and don't email ME, man. I gots enough on my plate.

It's so weird to think that my little creative baby's been going for two whole years now. I remember the night I approached Andy in January of '04 and asked him how I might go about putting together a reading. And then we ended up putting together this crazy cockamamie thing that was supposed to be a one-night-only thing but then we got a great lineup and then Dan got involved and started making us some crazywonderful graphics and the show ended up getting listed in The New Yorker and we were all "Hey kids, let's put on a SHOW!" like some demented old Our Gang short, and then we ended up with a line around the block and a LOT of people showed up and then a few days later I had to jet out of town because Mom was dying and I came back from the funeral to a message from Andy saying the P.S. 122 board wanted us to make it a monthly thing and it was just completely fucking crazy and intense and sad and happy and wonderful all at the same time, and we're still doing it.

I can't believe it's been two years.

We're gonna rip shit up tomorrow, kids. Trust. I can't wait.
