Joey Garfield
Joey Garfield is an award winning documentary, music video and commercial director. He was recently named to the 2008 Saatchi & Saatchi Cannes New Directors' Showcase.
Joey's feature length documentary "BREATH CONTROL: THE HISTORY OF THE HUMAN BEAT BOX" has won several awards and continues to screen all over the world. Joey also directed "STYLE WARS REVISITED" the 20-year anniversary of the
seminal graffiti film STYLE WARS. Both Breath Control and Style Wars Revisited had the privilege of screening at Tribeca's 1st and 2nd annual Film Festivals, respectively.
Other documentary works of note are the urban artist profile series "THE RUN UP" made in collaboration
with Upper Playground and BEAUTIFUL LOSER'S where he was the Director of Special Forces; providing personal
footage, shooting interstitial segments, and consulting. Beautiful Losers premiered at the 2009 South By Southwest Film Festival.
Joey is also an actor, comedian, and contributing editor of Juxtapose Magazine. He lives in Chicago and New York City.
