SVForum Main Event
at Cooley LLP
Corporate Investing

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Online registration is now closed. Walk-ins welcome; $10 more at the door.

Description:

Many big companies, including Google, Dell, PayPal, Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, SAP have long utilized Corporate Venture Capital, to generate healthy returns on their investments, and/or gain strategic insights and advantages. And while many companies pulled back from corporate investing when the bubble burst in 2000, there’s recently been a strong resurgence of Corporate Venture Funds.

Why is this? Are they all looking for the same, or different, things, and how do startup founders and entrepreneurs get their hands & brains around what’s happening, so they can leverage it to their best advantage?

Join us at the October Main Event when a lively panel of active corporate investors will explore current trends and panelist opinions, to help you find your way through the Corporate Venture Capital maze...

TOPICS INCLUDE:

• What sort of partnerships or investment opportunities are Corporate Venture Funds looking for?
• How do Corporate Partnerships and Venture Funds respond to these opportunities?
• What are their goals – maximize return on investment, new technology acquisition, or what?
• What levels of involvement do they want in a portfolio company?
• How do Corporate Partnerships and Venture Fund deal structures differ from independent Venture Funds?
• What is the ideal outcome – partnership, acquisition, IPO?
• What technologies and deals are most attractive to Corporations right now
