2011 Annual Report

Meeting the Challenges to Sustained U.S. Economic Growth

2012 may turn out to be one of the most critical years in recent American history. Sound policy and economic growth are needed today more than ever before. That has been the foundation of ACCF’s advocacy for more than three decades and what our mission will be in the politically charged election year of 2012 and second session of the 112th Congress. We offer our 2011 annual report as a chronicle of the unique niche the ACCF occupies in helping shape U.S. economic policy.

With three decades of recognized leadership and influence in U.S. economic policy, the ACCF interacts on a daily basis with current policymakers and policy makers to be, the media and interest groups on issues of importance to investors, the business community and the U.S. economy. We are uniquely able to play this role because of our bipartisan credibility with Members of Congress and the White House, our highly regarded research and analysis with impact on regulatory and legislative initiatives, and the respect we have earned in the media with editorialists, pundits, columnists and beat reporters, be they conservatives or liberals. See the ACCF website, www.accf.org, for background on our work.

The ACCF has been widely recognized for its contributions to U.S. economic policy. We have never wavered in the belief that strong capital formation is essential for job creation, a high standard of living, economic growth and competitiveness in the global economy but understand the realities of the economic policymaking process.

  • ACCF comes from the business community but, with a board of directors that includes former economic policymakers from both Democratic and Republican presidencies and Congress, we have the ear of both the White House and Congress and can speak credibly for public policies that promote a strong economy, good jobs and a high standard of living for all Americans.
  • ACCF’s think tank takes pride in its board of scholars that includes five former chairmen of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, some of the best and the brightest of our nation’s economists and two Nobel Prize winners in economics. Our research, analysis and expertise on many of the economic issues facing the country, including tax, energy, environmental, retirement security and regulatory policy, are highly respected in the business and public sectors.
  • ACCF, with three decades of authoring op-eds, appearing on national and international radio and TV programs and being a respected source for the print, electronic and new media on U.S. economic policies, has credibility with the media. ACCF’s potential for helping advance good economic policy is greater than ever before.

With your help, we will continue to have a significant impact on our country’s economic challenges.
