Calvin Klein Turns 70: Check Out The 10 Hottest Celebs In His Classic Sexy Ads

Calvin Klein is one of the most iconic American fashion designers of our time. His eternal minimalistic looks have graced some of biggest red carpets and have been worn by some of the biggest celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Sandra Bullock, and Julia Roberts. It’s hard to imagine that it all started 44 years ago in a small coat shop in the York Hotel right here in New York City when Klein founded Calvin Klein Limited with only $10,000. Today the famed designer is turning 70 and we’re pretty sure it’s safe to say that was $10,000 well spent!

Besides being awarded time after time for his fashions, the designer has also been accredited for many of his risqué ads, especially in the 80′s and 90’s. Who could forget Brooke Shields and her famous line “”You wanna know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.” And don’t even get us started on the the uber sexy ads that featured a young Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss. Calvin Klein has indefinitely jump-started many careers, so in honor of his 70th birthday we give you the 10 hottest celebs who have famously rocked a pair of CKs in print. Enjoy!

Christina Aguilera, Jordin Sparks, Gwen Stefani: Fashion Fails At The American Music Awards

How we wish these three ladies could have been on the best-dressed list at the 2012 American Music Awards instead. You can check out all our coverage on VH1 Tuner as well. We’re sad to include this trio here, but we have to be honest because these looks really tanked. We’ll start with Christina Aguilera. She has such a pretty face so we can’t understand why she has to ladle on so much makeup? We want to scrub her face with a sponge! The Pamela Roland gown she wore in white and shades of purple looked far too tight even though it was supposed to be draped and her Jimmy Choo heels were too clunky and by far the wrong choice for this. It also kills us that Gwen Stefani‘s Balmain Fall 2012 black velvet embellished blazer fit so badly! She wore the jacket with leather pants and a black bralet and it just didn’t work at all because the Balmain outweighed everything else. Except her face, which looked gorgeous. Lastly, we applaud Jordin Sparks for trying to pull off something as avant-garde as this net and patchwork Etro Fall 2012 gown, but it wore her instead. It requires some experience and sartorial savvy to wear something like this, and while Jordin is getting there, she isn’t quite at the level yet. Better luck next time for all. We know these three have a lot more in them!

10 Best-Dressed At The American Music Awards Includes Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Pink And More!

We’ve been all over the 40th American Music Awards, held last night at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. Get to  VH1 Tuner for all the coverage. Stick around here for a bit, if you’d like to know what went down there fashion wise, though. In a nutshell: great red carpet. No real missteps, except three people, as you’ll see in our next post, but with that many people at the event, that’s hardly a number to be worried about. We’re super excited about this best-dressed list, as these 10 ladies really brought their A-game. Taylor Swift leads the pack, ditching red lipstick again as she did at the MTV EMA’s last week. She wore a sexy Zuhair Murad Pre-Fall 2012 mini dress, with an open back and and gorgeous gold beading sewn in. Strappy Jimmy Choos and smoky eyes  completed the sophisticated look. Nicki Minaj, floored us too, in a neon yellow Monique Lhuiller gown, very similar, but a lot cooler, than the one Julie Bowen wore to the Emmys this year. Wearing the same color, only hers was sunflower, was Kerry Washington in a midi length Stella McCartney Resort 2013 dress with fringe detailing, styled with coral pumps that matched her coral lips. Carrie Underwood is next, looking fabulous in her purple beaded Abed Mahfouz Fall 2012 gown with rose-gold Jacob & Co. chandelier earrings. Kelly Rowland and Stacy Keibler went the same route with applique mini dresses, only Rowland’s was a Naeem Khan Fall 2012 dress while Keibler’s was a College Dinnigan number with a lot more embellishment, worn with Jimmy Choos, a Judith Leiber clutch and Neil Lane jewelry.
