Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes Working On Divorce Settlement

Those hoping for a "nuclear" and very public divorce fight between Tom Cruise and Kate Holmes may be disappointed: Various sources say that the pair are in talks for a divorce settlement. A source tells People, "Neither one of them wants this to be hashed out in public." But Holmes' trip to Whole Foods will remain paparazzi bait.
TMZ adds, "Sources tell us the lawyers are negotiating child custody, visitation, child support and a property settlement. We're also told the whole settlement could be ratified in New York if all goes well. In other words, there may not be a move by Tom's camp to transfer the case to California, where judges are more likely to award joint custody."
Late last month, Holmes filed for divorce from the international mega star, citing "irreconciliable differences" and asked for sole legal custody of their 6-year-old daughter Suri (Cruise has two children from his second marriage to Nicole Kidman). While rumors suggested that Holmes, raised a Catholic, wasn't that into Scientology and worried about the controversial religion's involvement in Suri's upbringing, Cruise's friend claim that Holmes loves Scientology. C'mon—who doesn't love a story involving Xenu?

Tom gets custody of the wacky religion.
I don't see Katie getting that much money from Tom, but honestly she doesn't need it. Once out of the Scientology orbit she will do well for herself, and certainly Suri will get thousands of dollars a month to lavish on her. What will be more interesting is to see how much custody Tom will get with Suri, and whether this will be supervised or not. Also, will Suri be allowed to see psychologists and/or psychiatrists if she has any emotional issues from the breakup (or if Tom's team creates emotional issues) - Scientologists believe that psychology and psychiatry is a "merchant of evil" responsible for genocide and the Holocaust.
He knows, and probably the Scientology folks know they would go through hell here in NY.

She has good lawyers. Her good (and expensive) lawyers arn't going to work this settlement for 'peanuts.' Also, Suri will probably get around $25,000 a month in child support payments.
I'm doing this from a guys perspective. Katie knew he was into Scientology when they first got together. Now she minds. Tom needs to get the most high powered lawyers around and crush her fickle butt. Tom was stalling my career.... Really? Nobody was checking for her before, let alone now.
Y'know what? People sometimes walk into things thinking they understand them, and then find that the truth is much less seemly than they had thought. And Scientology...well, it's stock and trade is being less seemly than people think. And Katie was only 27 when she entered into this contract, which, not knowing how old you are, if you're under 35, may seem like a fully responsible adult, but if you're over 35? Well, think about some of the stupid shit you believed in your 20s, and ask yourself if you'd like to be held responsible for that crap now.
Personally, I hope she's got a lot of good, juicy tidbits on TC and on Scientology, and that she is merciless about using them for her own advantage. Those people screwed Ms. Kidman to the point of taking her kids away from her, and they've got a big karmic kick in the ass coming that's long overdue.

Just child support and property. Good to see some guy not getting hosed out of all the money he has earned. More stars need pre-nups, because sometimes love does not conquer all. You got to protect yourself.
