I can't say I saw this sort of thing coming, but after the fact, it feels strangely inevitable that it was going to happen, if that makes sense. Courtesy Casey Conklin, we now have an amalgamation of the most repeatable trends of Fall 2012: Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and the Eagles' tumble down the standings and rabbit hole.

Just two years after adding Nebraska to reach 12 teams, the Big Ten will continue expanding their reach. Maryland has agreed to leave the ACC and become a member of the conference beginning in 2014, and reports are Rutgers will follow suit by exiting the Big East next.

A new Rocky musical made its debut in Hamburg over the weekend with none other than Sly Stallone in attendance. This has to be the best thing to hit Germany since the invention of the dirndl. [Amazing video of the show after the jump. AMAZING.]

If Nick Foles is in fact the future of the Eagles’ franchise, then that future will have to wait. At his day-after press conference, Andy Reid left little doubt that Michael Vick will be the starter whenever he’s able to return from a concussion, which might be as soon as next Monday night.

Brent Celek, Sad

I think most fans would say they believe Celek is one of those guys that tends to leave it all out on the field. He's taken some of the most brutal hits of anyone in green this season and usually gets right back up and goes across the middle the next time his name is called.

He's also pretty honest about both the team and his own shortcomings. He showed this yet again on Sunday when he vented a bit to his Twitter followers.

As the world all learned yesterday, Andre Bynum did in fact have a setback to his tender knee(s) believed to be caused from a bowling incident about 9 days ago. You can watch him talk about it prior to yesterday's win over the Cavs below.

But just listening to Bynum talk about his fragile knees will not cheer you up. What could help is a GIF of what some believe may have actually happened to Andrew on the bowling lanes.

Tuning in to the Post Game Live crew following an Eagles loss has been pretty good as of late. Ray Diddy taking the gloves off an unloading on this bad football team can be quite fun to watch. Even Ike Reese has gotten his fair share of awesome jabs at the team in as of late.

But yesterday brought something nobody wants to see. Former Mayor of Philadelphia and Governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell singing about the Birds loss.

As if the earlier play when a Redskins wide receiver may have been the most open guy ever en route to a 49yard touchdown wasn't embarrassing enough, Eagles defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins may have topped that in terms of feeling like an idiot. [video after the jump]

One of the few bright spots for the Phillies last season turned out to be Juan Pierre. Now in his mid-30s, Pierre is a limited ball player, but put up good numbers while remaining a consummate professional during what was a trying year in Philadelphia. Things went so well for the 35 year old, there was even a thought he could return to the organization in 2013.

As it turns out, Pierre will stay in the NL East… it just won’t be here.

Reid: McCoy Injured in Final Minutes of Blowout Because Eagles Were ‘trying to catch up’

As if things couldn’t get any worse this season, All-Pro running back and last remaining beacon of light LeSean McCoy sustained a concussion as the Eagles were running meaningless plays in the final moments of a humiliating 31-6 loss in Washington. It’s early, so there’s no word on how severe it is, but in this day and age we’re all hyper-sensitive to these types of injury.

But why was McCoy on the field in the first place with less than two minutes remaining, and the outcome decided? According to the head coach, the Eagles were trying to win the game.
