I’ve been trying to find a stat that helps quantify the value of an advantage line. This time around, I’m comparing first baton blasting with and without an advantage line.

Is a double considered a “hit” or is it considered 200%?

Depends on how many are in play. With 4 in play a double would be 50%, with 8 it would be 25%, etc.

I believe these guys owned “MinnesotaKubb.com” at some point, but I grabbed it up when they let it go… web.archive.org/web/20100517144704/minnesotakubb.com/
      (not a bad logo…)

Let us know if you hear more from them.

Since Thursday I’ve had two interesting experiences with Kubb. I thought this group would like to hear.

    1. Sold a guy a giant jenga set for Thanksgiving weekend. In the process I showed him my kubb set, gave him a direction sheet and thought I may never see him again. Got an email the next day asking for two kubb sets. He then told me about his search on line and then painted his backyard….before even having a set. He went to youtube and watched some videos. I didn’t ask specifically which ones he watched, but I think I could find out.

    2. Sat morning at 7:25 I started playing Kubb with John (partner at DMK and Spring Grove). We battled it out for over an hour. In the process my dog got off his leash as another dog walked by. The lady was like, “Oh, you guys play kubb too.” I think both of our jaws dropped. We talked to her for a few minutes and found out that her husband and friends put on 3-5 kubb tournaments a year. One on a frozen lake and at least one in Chicago. Trying to get more information from this family, but I believe this is a group that plays by the rules “If you take a king shot and miss and have an extra baton the other team gets a shot to steal the victory by knocking the king down”. I’ve seen a few youtube videos of this. Pretty exciting, but how bad would it be to get all the kubbs down on your oppents half of the pitch with more than 2 batons left…miss the king on the first shot…then hand over the baton and lose the game

I’d bet that if he’s doing his own tournaments with that rule, there’s a bunch of other weird aspects of their rule set. Probably kubb elimination… I have also met Kubb players outside of our community playing by other rules. It’d be great to “assimilate” even one of these groups.
