This is a model of a 1950's boy ripped from Fallout New Vegas. I rigged it myself and loaded a couple of motion capture .bip files
that I found. First he's being a little sassy, second he's a bit tipsy. Learning 'bout riggin models. Gotta do morph targets with rigged
models next.





This is a model of captain J.L. Picard ripped from some old game I've never played called Star Trek Bridge Commander.
It's a gamebryo .nif file unpacked with BSA browser. Textures are targa. I did the facial/mouth animation myself. If I could only get him to blink...


Inside the Bridge Commander data folders (not even packed in a .bsa like most gamebryo engine games) I found all kinds of set pieces and sci-fi looking furniture(all .nif format) I assembled all thses different sets in 3ds Max. Some of them don't look particularly Star-Treky. I think they'll be useful. Luckily the UVW mapping was already done and saved within the .nif so all I had to do was look for the textures and slap 'em on.

I did some lighting on this one below. This is the Star-Trekiest one.

I modeled an open mouth for an animatedmorph target. Looks pretty slick, so far.
This looks like kind of an 'A' sound. Gotta tackle some different phenomes next.



manually scrolling the texture map offset in 3ds max and doing a live video capture.



Several iterations of one texture map. The far right model utilizes correct UVW mapping. The remaining three are ignoring the UVW info, therefore the map stretches uncontrollably around the model. The variations were produced by dragging around the map texture coordianates in the material editor.

Self portrait 3d model. Found 3d model (probably turbosquid) with a photoreal (my best for now) texture map. made entirely with Photoshop Extented .
partially pasted onto the texture map and partially drawn in 3d. the mesh is not modeled after me, that's the next step. just my skin for now. creepy.
