Is erotic fiction empowering for women or does it leave you a little cold? Writers Samantha Brick and Emily Dubberley debate the hot topic.

She describes her books as romantic fantasy stories, which offer women a holiday from their husbands, and it seems millions are taking EL James at her word.

Her explicit novel Fifty Shades of Grey is now the fastest selling paperback since records began.

The novel, the first instalment of an X-rated trilogy, has beaten JK Rowling and Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown to the UK record.

So do women love or hate erotic fiction?

Writer Samantha Brick says it leaves her cold and erotic writer Emily Dubberley disgrees saying women love it as it makes them feel empowered.
