Hola

Listening to Daddy Yankee's "Gasolina," which reminds me of Venezuela. I really need to learn how to speak Spanish. For one, so I can understand what the funk Spanish rappers are talking about. But also cause I keep getting emails from friends in South America that I don't understand. Got one a while ago that Jacquie and I stared at for a good half hour and never did figure out. (hola amigos y amigas. ¿cómo estan?)

Haven't felt much like posting lately. Been working on my book (actually there's two books in the works, one I am editing and one I am writing--but that's a story for a different day). Not into blogging right now. For some reason I'm finding it hard to switch gears. I can move between newspaper mode and blog mode no problem, but deep book brooding is hard to snap out of. Been walking the beach a lot, listening to my (brand new!) iPod Nano, and turning things over and over in my mind.

The book is turning out more personal than I planned. Wouldn't have chosen it that way, that's for sure. But sometimes you don't necessarily have a choice. Sometimes things write themselves.

Had dinner with my friend Rebecca tonight, Straight photographer extraordinaire.
