Q. Where can I

Q. Is this the
Senfu DIY House (tech station)?
A. No, Senfu seems to have changed business structure in 2003 and
the DIY House is no longer on the market. The HSPC Tech Station
(patent pending) is a completely different product with lots of
improvements.
Q. Can I get a Tech
Station built to my specific measurements and colors?
A. Of course! Just email us with your specs and we will
work with you to get the custom test bench of your dreams. A
modest design fee will need to be applied for the custom work and we
will give you a final quote for your approval.
Q. Are color
options only for the bench surfaces?
A. Yes, at present those are the only color options available.
Q. My motherboard
hangs off the back of the Standard Tech Station by a couple inches...
UPDATE: The
latest Standard Tech Stations are 14x9.5" and most all ATX
motherboards fit perfectly! Extended ATX users need the
Large model.
A. This is normal. Most ATX motherboards are 12" wide x
9.6 deep" so there will be just about 1.5" overhanging and
won't effect
performance. We have carefully researched the size of the Standard
Tech Station to be at the best price/size ratio without sacrificing the
care of your hardware. Any larger and material costs jump. However, YOU ASK AND WE RESPOND! Check out the Large Tech Station Kits 14x13.
If these don't cut it for your application email us and we'll build you
whatever size you need.
Q. During assembly,
the vertical bars won't sit flush against the top/bottom shelves.
A. Simply back the screws out and drive the screws back in.
Use some force straight down on the screw and just turn the screw 1/4
turn at a time when it starts to get tight. It may be helpful to take off the screw covers and tighten down the
screws completely, then back them out and reinstall with the caps. - this
will help seat everything nice and snug.
Q. During assembly,
some of the screw cover caps won't snap tight.
A. All the caps will snap closed but occasionally the fit is very
close. Sometimes all it takes is an extra 1/4 turn of the
screw. Follow the steps in the Q&A above and leave out
the metal washer on the really tough ones. This will give extra
room inside the cap and will not effect assembly otherwise if you're
careful not to over tighten and crack the screw cap. (an extra cap is
included just in case!) If the screws are over tightened the caps
may deform slightly and may need a good smack with a hammer or rubber mallet
to pop in place.
UPDATE 9/1/04:
All Tech Stations now ship with slightly larger caps to eliminate
this all together.
Q. I need more height for my
oversized heatsink/fan.
A. Check out the Tech
Station Accessories section. We have replacement vertical
supports for Tech Station that are 10" tall. These raise
the overall height of the bench to over 12". The 10"
replacement supports are compatible with both the Standard and Large
versions, but revision 2.0 and later ONLY!
