Corsair Carbide 200R Case

Looking for a compact mid-tower ATX case for your next system build? Check out this review of the Corsair Carbide 200R at Guru3D.

The new budget chassis in the Carbide series of PC cases from Corsair would be the 200R, Corsair markets the product being entry-level, and with a 60 USD pricetag, we can not argue on that. These chassis remain to be good looking but really are feature rich products. Keywords here would be a nice design chassis, tool free, lots of space, nice airflow and even prepped for liquid cooling.

Google: Don’t Let Trolls Win

I'm with Google on this one, let's kick some patent troll ass. While we are at it, let's kick the USPTO in the nuts too for handing out patents on some of the most ridiculous crap on the planet. spacer

Last year alone, more than 4,000 patent lawsuits were filed in the U.S; it’s the highest number ever recorded. Software and internet patents are litigated about nine times more often than other patents. Many of those suits seek to exploit low-quality software patents. Increasingly, these lawsuits are filed by plaintiffs who never did the hard work of actually creating a real product or service related to the patent claim.

Politicians Say Google Shouldn't Be Accused of Unfair Acts

Politicians asking the Federal Trade Commission to leave their biggest campaign contributors alone? That can't be right. It is just so...so...so unlike a politician to do something like that. spacer

Two lawmakers urged the Federal Trade Commission on Monday to steer clear of expanding its authority as it investigates allegations search engine company Google violated antitrust law. The two California Democrats in the House of Representatives, who count Google as a major campaign contributor, asked the FTC not to accuse the company of "unfair" acts if it believes it broke antitrust law.

Most Cyberlocker Uploaders Not Driven by Cash

Hmmm, not making any money sharing pirated content? How about getting a job?

Most people who upload files to cyberlockers make less than minimum wage from their activities according to researchers from Boston’s Northeastern University and Eurcom in France. The researchers analyzed the click rates at several link-sites, and conclude that the overall impact of affiliate programs on piracy may be overstated.

Retailers Are Monitoring Your Return Habits

With Black Friday just a few days away, you guys might want to read this article before you go shopping. spacer

"Your personal information is entered into a huge database and like a credit score, they tabulate how many returns you do and if you go over the limit, you are denied returns," he said. "The worst part is that they won’t just deny returns to Home Depot, but to any retailer that participates in The Retail Equation."

New MySpace Losing More Money Than Old MySpace

Brace yourself, this is going to come as a shock...MySpace still sucks. Even with celebrity investors, the site lost more than $40M this year (on what we'll never know).

Since December 2011, MySpace traffic is up 36 percent. But MySpace continues to flounder commercially. Documents show that it will generate revenues of just $15 million this year, up from a miserable $9 million in 2011. MySpace lost more than $40 million in 2012. Interactive Media expects it to lose another $25 million next year.

MSI Z77A-GD55 LGA 1155 Motherboard

Our evaluation of the MSI Z77A-GD55 LGA 1155 motherboard is now live. If you are a "bang-for-your-buck" kinda guy, you'll definitely want to check out this review.

spacer

This motherboard might be a bit off-the-radar for most enthusiasts since it is a bit "down the scale." However, if you want a lot of bang for your buck, then look no further than MSI's Z77A-GD55. While it's somewhat basic in features it's overclocking performance is stellar for the price, which is very value oriented.

Facebook Is A Huge Time Suck Platform

The quote of the day is brought to you by Mark Cuban.

FB is what it is. Its a time waster. That’s not to say we don’t engage, we do. We click, share and comment because it’s mindless and easy. But for some reason FB doesn’t seem to want to accept that it’s best purpose in life is as a huge time suck platform that we use to keep up with friends, interests and stuff. I think that they are over thinking what their network is all about .

Corsair Carbide 300R Mid-Tower Chassis

If you are in the market for a new mid-tower case, the crew at eTeknix recommend the Corsair Carbide 300R. Here's a quote from the review:

The style of this chassis is fantastic, it’s sleek and bold at the same time and that side panel window gives you a fantastic view of your components. Should you wish to fit this chassis with some case lighting, this system will quite literally shine. Corsair are also a strong brand name, as such this is quite a cool product to own. Your system will look fantastic in this chassis, it will have plenty of cooling and still have room for a multi GPU setup.

Sales Mean Nothing: Has Call of Duty Gone Stale?

In an editorial piece from SlashGear, it’s proposed that even with the success of the franchise overall and the $500M release of Black Ops 2, the gameplay has become redundant, stale and repetitive and should get a complete makeover for continued success. What’s your take on the CoD franchise?

The Call of Duty franchise has become one big, repurposed offering that gets customers to pay too much for what is essentially a bunch of new maps launched annually in November.

Microsoft's Xbox Live Turns 10

Other milestones in the development of Xbox Live included the 2004 introduction of the Xbox Live Arcade, the emergence of customizable Avatars and the Avatar Marketplace in 2008 and 2009, and major Xbox Live dashboard overhauls in recent years.

Facebook and Yahoo! Are in Talks About Forging an Alliance

According to multiple sources, Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg and Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer have been in ongoing talks about the possibilities of joining forces for better search capabilities on Facebook. The major drawback in the plan is an ongoing 10 year deal between Microsoft and Yahoo which would have to be settled before moving forward.

Forging an alliance with Yahoo! would allow the social network to take a major leap forward in search, ensuring it remains central to its users’ lives and helping to target advertising more efficiently.

What’s Google Got Against December?

In its latest update to the Android Jelly Bean OS, Google somehow managed to forget to include December in its People App that polls your calendar and social networks to remind you of upcoming events. If you have the 4.2 update, just forget about December, Google did. spacer

My guess is we won't have to wait for Android 4.2.1 for too long now - leaving a bug like that live would make the North Pole population very-very unhappy.
