About the event

What is Ignite?
Held in cities worldwide, created by and sponsored by O’Reilly publishing, Ignite is an event where presenters share their personal and professional passions using just 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds for a total of just five minutes. Think of it like a micro version of TED.

Talks can be on random subjects or can be chosen to fit in with a specific theme for the evening and all talks are video recorded and published on www.igniteshow.com for the wider community.

The UXPA has been using the Ignite format for the last couple of years at the international conference as well as local events and now we're giving it a shot here in Edinburgh with a range of great speakers.

How will the Scottish UXPA Ignite evening work?
We will have 7 speakers who will present on topics of their choosing, using the Ignite format above. Given that this is the first time we have run Ignite talks we will keep the theme as wide as possible. Talks simply have to relate to the world of UX.

What's the plan for the evening?
The evening will start with drinks, as normal, followed by an introduction to the evening and the Ignite format. Following that, we will begin the talks. We will leave a few minutes between talks to switch speakers and give time for any questions.

Entry fee

£10 for non-members, £5 for students and free for UPA members. Pay at the door.

Venue

Microsoft Scotland, Waverley Gate, 2-4 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3EG
