Unearthing new knowledge

Anthropology graduate student Mary Jane Acuña has been part of a team exploring ancient life in a royal Maya city deep in the Guatemalan rainforest. This fall the team, co-directed by WUSTL’s David Freidel, discovered the tomb of one of the great queens of Classic Maya civilization.
