IT Services and Support at Oxford University

If you are a student or staff member of the University and would like information about the extensive IT services and support available to you, please go to IT at Oxford University.

Decentralised Structure of IT within the University

The University of Oxford is comprised of the central University and the Colleges. It is a decentralised structure with a federal system which brings together the thirty-eight independent colleges and the central University. The IT structure of the University is therefore decentralised too and every college and department of the University is responsible for its own local IT services.

Chief Information Officer: Professor Anne Trefethen

Professor Anne Trefethen was appointed as the University's first CIO in March 2012.

The University of Oxford formed a new IT Services department in August 2012, bringing together the former departments OUCS, BSP and ICT Support Team. Professor Trefethen is the head of that department.
