Simon Doughty, Bespoke Commercial Sculptor.
DesignRealisation, Design and Make Service.
My work is about not being confined by gallery space but providing a sensory experience for the audience. Throughout my 20 year career I have worked with the creative industries, heritage, education and community groups to sculpturally realise 'their' message.
My work is inspired by vernacular art carrying on the tradition of mid-twentieth century Craft and Design. I have always drawn and made objects, I am from the generation of Meccano, Lego, Airfix, and junk Blue Peter makes. Inspiration and Heroes in my choice of career include; Tony Hart, Wilf Lunn, Heath Robinson, and Peter Blake.
I offer a Design & Make service, realising sculptures for many commercial applications. These include museum / heritage environments, interactive exhibits, trade shows, advertising / marketing campaigns, bespoke retail interiors, sets/props for film, TV, photo-shoots, and stop-frame animation productions, as well as specialising in working with educational organisations and designing/realising community public artworks.
Offering creative value for any sized budget.
