Call for Candidates for the Editor-in-Chief of ACM TALIP
The term of the current editor of the ACM Transactions on Asian Language Information Processing (TALIP), will end soon. A search committee has been formed to identify candidates for Editor-in-Chief and to recommend the most suitable one to the ACM Publications Board.

The Position
The position is for a term (renewable once) of three years, starting in May 2013. The duties of ACM Editors-in-Chief are summarized in this document. Further information can be found in ACM Publications Policies.
Qualifications
Candidates should be well-established researchers in areas related to computational linguistics, information retrieval and NLP applications for Asian languages, broadly conceived, and should have sufficient experience serving on conference program committees and journal editorial boards.
Nomination Process
Nominations should be sent by email to Jian-Yun Nie (nie@iro.umontreal.ca).
To nominate a colleague, send a summary of candidate's relevant research contributions and editorial qualifications. The committee accepts self-nominations, which should include a current curriculum vita and a brief (one page) statement of the candidate's vision for TALIP.
Deadline
The committee will start evaluating candidates after November 30, 2012. Nominations arriving after this date are not guaranteed to be considered.
