This tutorial will help you create your widget in no time.

Choosing image host
First, we need to start customizing your widget. If you look under the customization section, you will see 3 radio buttons to decide between us hosting the images, you hosting the images, or using wordpress. If you are a novice or for widgets that will be going on MySpace or the like, you will want us to host the images. This is the easiest way to use the widget. If, however, you want to host the images yourself you can do so as well. This will be faster for your viewers as well as insuring that the images will work on your widget even if our servers go out. We'll show you how to set up the images on your own server if you choose this way later in the tutorial. If you are planning on putting this widget in your WordPress sidebar, select this option. We will explain this steps to this process later as well.

Putting in your profiles
We now can get to putting your profiles in. In the yellow header, fill in your full name. Then go through each of the rows and fill in your profile name for that site. If you do not use that site, uncheck it. You can always recheck later. Most websites will function with just your username, but some require a bit more. We will explain a few here:

Myspace: Copy the part after the / in your myspace domain. For instance, if your myspace is www.myspace.com/dustinbachrach, you will put "dustinbachrach" in the text box (without the quotes).
Facebook: You need to get your ID number. When you view your profile, look at the URL. It's the number after "id=".
Friendster: Use the ID number that is shown on your profile page. It should say something like: www.friendster.com/555555555/. Put in the number.
Linkedin: Linkedin lets users make a public profile. The URL is www.linkedin.com/in/some_name. Put in some_name.
Amazon Wishlist: You need to get the direct link. Go to your Amazon Wishlist page. On the left, you should see a button that says "Tell people about this list." Click that. A box should appear. At the bottom in orange, it says "Your unique Wish List address is." Copy the address it gives.
Upcoming: The URL will be www.upcoming.org/user/???/ where the ?'s are a number. Paste that number.
Your blog: Just place the direct link to your blog.
Skype and AIM: Both AIM and Skype allow you to show your status on the web. ShareYourself automatically puts an image after your username showing whether you are online or not after both Skype and AIM. Skype Users: If your status does not show up, you need to go to Skype Preferences and click "Allow my status to be shown on the web." It's under privacy settings.

Preview your widget
You should now see a preview of what your widget will look like. You can change the colors of your widget by putting in the Hexadecimal color codes. The colors should update. You should now press the "Generate Code" button to make sure all of your changes have been saved.

Option 1: We host the images
Once you have customized everything, copy the code that is generated. If you chose for us to host the images, you are all set. Just paste that code in to your Myspace or wherever. It should work great!

Option 2: You host the images
If you chose to host the images yourself, copy the generated code and put it into your site. Then, go to the bottom of this page and download the ZIP file. Extract the file onto your server. Make sure to put the folder "widget_images" in the same directory as the page that shows your widget. That's all. You should be all set!

Option 3: Using Wordpress?
If you are using Wordpress, you can copy the generated code and place it in your sidebar. Then download the ZIP file at the bottom of this page. Extract it into your WP theme's folder. This will be like: wp-content/themes/*theme_name*/. That should work. You're all done!
