Science Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Programs

Northern New Mexico College’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs directed by the Engineering Department have been created through grants from the U. S. Department of Education, the LANL Foundation and the National Science Foundation. The principal goal of the programs is the matriculation, retention and graduation of more students in all STEM fields at the college level. Instruction, advisement, tutoring and mentoring activities in the programs are done by college and high school faculty and part-time counselors.

Currently the program that is sponsoring all of our activities is ASPIRE (sponsored by National Science Foundation). ASPIRE is dedicated to the recruitment and retention of STEM students. Northern is proud to offer these programs to local students and faculty for the future success of our community with the design of increasing the number of STEM graduates ready for exciting careers in STEM fields. Part of the ASPIRE program activities is the SUMMER STEM Camp for High School Students.
