Overview
Now in its 4th year, SON 2013 is expanding on it predecessing events, not only with a greater number of speakers from executive backgrounds, but through offering real life case studies into how SON's are starting to work in reality. The 2-day carrier led event, which is the ONLY DEDICATED SELF ORGANISING event in the globe, will bring together the latest research, case studies and solutions around SON, offering high-level technical discussion around the different automated technologies through to strategic decisions on deployment and feedback from the first SON movers.
Why Now?
With operators' revenues failing to increase in line with rapid explosion of data growth, the need to reduce networks costs whilst maintaining an optimised network has never been greater. Enter Self Organising Networks. Automation of the networks if increasingly being identified as a key way for operators to reach these two key priorities, and given the growth of LTE networks, and its standardisation within this, SON has now become a reality.
Accordingly debate will centre on whether Self Organisation is the key to achieving a truly cognitive and efficient network, as demanded by the increasingly complex multi-technology network environment of today.
Why Attend
- Audience of 120+ high-level executives
- World-class exhibition floor with real-life showcases on the leading SON technologies
- Join 25+ leading operators from across the globe to learn the strategies and successes of the first movers
- Speed Networking sessions to ensure you meet the needs of your business
- Learn from the key players determining the SON trajectory
Key discussion topics include:
- Defining SON and its multiple uses
- Analysis of the Key Advantages of Automation - Cost Savings and Network Optimization
- Interaction and Trade off between different SON features
- Updates on MultiVendor SON and Standardisation
- Examining Diverse Deployment Scenarios: Indoor Environments, Metro-Zones, Backhaul & Core Networks
- Ensuring Zero-touch networks for M2M and Cloud
- Quantifying SON Savings and Minimising the Network Lifecycle cost
- Managing SON features in Multi-layer, Multi-access HetNets
- Ensuring SON Robustness and Scalability in a Multi-technology Environment
- Using Network Intelligence and Data Analytics to create a Cognitive Network
- Defining the Future Developments of SON: Creating a Closed-Loop Network
What was new in 2012?
- First Movers Spotlight Session: Hear real life scenarios of SON deployments from the leading global operators
- Vendor Technical Showcase: Interactively explore the leading solutions on offer to effectively automate your network
- Multivendor SON + Standardisation Debate: Hear the differing views of the equipment vendors, 3rd party organisations and operators on the following key issues affecting SON development
- To what extent can vendors align on software solutions?
- What interfaces need to be standardised? Multiple of interfaces between elements, management and system layers
- Is the baseline of interoperable aspects sufficient for meaningful multi-vendor implementation?
- What is a realistic time to market for standardisation of interfaces?
- What is the plausibility of having a third party for standardisation?
- Evening Refreshment Roundtables: At the end of day one, relax and discuss the day's learnings with a drinks reception centred around roundtables, hosted by some of the industry's most renowned SON analysts and experts
