Since 2000, Qualcomm has grown a developer community around its mobile processors and innovations. The Qualcomm Developer Network (QDevNet) is our way of centralising access to everything you need to build on Qualcomm’s products, whether you’re writing applications, extending APIs or working with our technologies.

QDevNet helps you to use our hardware and software to pursue your biggest goals:

  • Differentiate your applications and services to stay ahead of your competitors – When you build on top of our family of mobile processors, you have speed and performance advantages that make your products stand out.
  • Get your products in front of the people who want them – We’ve got more for you than a bag of APIs and sample code. Our deep, established relationships in wireless span the globe and can help you tap into new markets.
  • Find new ways to make your customers happy – Qualcomm never stops innovating, and we give you plenty of opportunities to create new and cool user experiences using our innovative technologies such as augmented reality and peer-to-peer networking.

Make money to build up your business – Qualcomm-enabled commercial channels have generated over US$3 billion in developer earnings since 2001 – not a bad piece of the mobile software market. By successfully bringing smartphone-like capabilities to feature phones, Brew™ continues to open up significant new revenue opportunities.

What else do we do for our developers? We highlight their most creative and best performing work in the QDevNet Showcase with case studies and application stories that give the community new ideas for their own products. We also put some of this work on display in our booth at trade shows and on stage at conferences, to help promising developers and applications get noticed by our own customers, partners and industry influencers.

QDevNet. We’re ready to Discover, Develop, Distribute, Download and Discuss mobile apps and technologies with you.

Developer Opportunities:

  • 3G & 4G Connectivity (Gobi™)

Tap into the location functionality within Gobi to include services such as driving directions, asset tracking, anti-theft and enhanced commerce within your mobile app. Once you've developed the code to enable Gobi's location functionality, it can be reused across many device form factors and operating systems.

  • Augmented Reality (Vuforia™)

Build your vision with Qualcomm's Augmented Reality (AR) platform. Access powerful tools to create sophisticated AR apps for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.

  • Computer Vision (FastCV™)

FastCV is a mobile-optimised computer vision (CV) library for developers of sophisticated CV apps, CV middleware developers and CV app framework architects. FastCV allows for the development of high-performance mobile CV apps or CV frameworks and tools that can be used by the everyday mobile developer.

  • Mobile Gaming & Graphics Optimisation (Adreno™)

Qualcomm's Adreno Graphics solution not only includes the high-performance, custom-built GPUs integrated into the Snapdragon processor, but also the tools and resources to quickly and easily create dazzling, high-end and efficient 3D mobile games and apps.

  • Multimedia Optimisation

Optimise the performance of your multimedia running on Snapdragon chipsets. We'll help you to reduce CPU saturation by offloading the compute-intensive multimedia work from software running on the CPU to dedicated audio-video acceleration hardware.

  • Peer-to-Peer (AllJoyn™)

Create unique apps and service by including the ability for devices to connect via ad-hoc, peer networks using our AllJoyn P2P technology. Nearby devices can communicate directly with one another over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth without the need to connect to cellular networks.

  • Web Technologies

Develop Web apps that run on parity with native. We've enable a series of software features and hardware-tuned performance optimisations that allow the Web application environment deep reach into the phone and bring it up to the level of performance your users expect from native applications.
