We had a blast putting together the original Simply Recipes site, so when Elise asked us about developing and designing an iPhone web app for Simply Recipes, we were thrilled. After all, what could be more ex citing than developing a simple interface for a simple recipe website on the easiest-to-use phone out there?

We started by boiling down Simply Recipes to its core features: easy searching, recipes by type and streamlined recipe pages were a must. Then using Joe Hewitt’s iUI as a springboard, we created a custom interface that feels at home on the iPhone but carries a uniquely “Simply Recipes” feel. We paired that with the Movable Type backend and the final product? All of the recipes on the popular food blog Simply Recipes, reformatted for easy reading and navigation on the iPhone.

We were also thrilled to learn that the Simply Recipes iPhone App was also featured as a staff pick on the front page of Apple’s app store just a day after its public launch.
