George Stoney, one of Global Action Project's biggest fans and allies, and my personal friend and mentor, passed away on July 12 in his apartment in the West Village. He had just turned 96. I was lucky to have had a chance to attend his birthday party and life celebration on July 1. Though I will miss him terribly and always, I am comforted that he died exactly as he had wished: on the tail of a birthday bash, where he was surrounded by loved ones.
