About Me
I’m a full-time working mom with an amazingly supportive husband, John, and two boys John-John (13) and Justin (7). We live in the DC metro area.
I’ve been reviewing books for around 13 years now, but decided to take the plunge and create a blog in March of 2008. Reading has always been a big part of my life. Since I can remember, I’ve always had a book nearby or a book in hand. I began blogging about books because I love to discuss and recommend books.My oldest son was/is an reluctant reader, so blogging has actually improved our relationship because I’ve been able to discover books that interest him. He now begs to read each night; that brings such joy to my life!
In addition to reviewing books for my blog, I also occasionally review for Monsterlibrarian.com, a “ source for readers of horror fiction to find another book to read and a source for librarians to develop their collections and provide readers advisory.” I’m also a contributing writer to the SheKnows Book Lounge. My husband, boys & I also have two cats ,Sylvester (tuxedo cat), Jadzea (tortoise shell) and a dog, Jack (Doxie/Chihuahu Mix).Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me! Jenn, Love your site! I’d be really interested to hear what your 11-year-old, John-John, has latched onto for reading and how you helped get him there. I’ve been teaching 6th grade for 20 years (and reading stacks of tween books for my classroom library) and just started blogging my reviews. My mission is to hook tweens on reading, and I’m constantly looking for new tricks.
