UN Declaration On September 13, 2007, the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was adopted by the General Assembly. This decision comes as a result of more than twenty years of work by indigenous peoples and the United Nations system. |

Adoption of the Resolution on the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples in 2014
The 66th Session of the UN General Assembly adopted Draft Resolution A/66/L.61, which was orally amended and agreed upon on the Organization of the High-level Plenary Meeting of the sixty-ninth session of the General Assembly, to be known as the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples.
Following the adoption of the Resolution, statements were made by the European Union (Cyprus), the Russian Federation, the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Sweden, USA and the People's Republic of China. >>> More information
International Expert Group Meeting--2013:
An international expert group meeting on the theme “Indigenous youth: identity,
challenges and hope: articles 14, 17, 21 and 25 of the United Nations Declaration
on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples” will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York, 29-31 January 2013.

10. Adoption of the report of the Permanent Forum on its twelfth session.
