Frequently Asked Questions

Expand All | Collapse All
  • What is Intuit PaymentNetwork?

PaymentNetwork is an electronic invoicing service (also known as an online bill payment or electronic billing service) that gives you the option of adding an online payment link to your QuickBooks invoice. This allows your customers to pay you directly from their bank accounts to yours using ACH payment. This is the same type of online bill payment service your customers use to pay their telephone or utility bills, so it's convenient and familiar to them.

How long does it take for a payment to arrive in my bank account?

Payments from electronic invoicing that total less than $5,000 are funded within 1 business day. Payments of $5,000 or greater are funded within 2 days.

    Is PaymentNetwork secure?

Intuit, as the maker of TurboTax and Quicken, is known for best-in-class financial data security, safely handling personal data and transactions for millions of customers each year. PaymentNetwork adheres to rigorous online banking industry protection standards, using an https connection over SSL (Secure Socket Layer) at 256-bit AES encryption. With PaymentNetwork, you know that Intuit will safeguard the financial information of you and your customers. And anyone you pay or who pays you will never see your bank account information.

    How much does PaymentNetwork cost?

It's completely free to send or request a payment, and you pay only $.50 for each payment you receive. There are no monthly charges, no set-up fees, and no equipment to buy.

How do I pay the $0.50 fee?

It couldn't be simpler: when a customer pays one of your electronic invoices, the amount deposited to your bank account will be $.50 less than the amount of your electronic invoice. For example, if you send your customer a QuickBooks electronic invoice for $255, when your customer uses the Intuit PaymentNetwork online bill payment option he or she will pay $255, and the amount deposited to your account will be $254.50.

How can my customers pay me online?

When you create an electronic invoice with Intuit QuickBooks 2011 Pro, Premier and Enterprise editions, Intuit PaymentNetwork adds a Pay online with Intuit PaymentNetwork link to your electronic invoice. When your customers select that link they'll be taken to a secure website that allows them to pay you online immediately. If they haven't used the service before, they'll be guided through a simple and quick registration.

Are PaymentNetwork transactions recorded in QuickBooks?

You can record PaymentNetwork transactions manually in QuickBooks just like you would any other kind of payment (like a paper check or cash payment).
Or, have PaymentNetwork automatically update QuickBooks with received payments. QuickBooks even applies the payment to the correct invoice. Once you set up this automated synchronization, you don't need to do a thing!

Can I remove PaymentNetwork links from my QuickBooks Invoices?

Yes. To remove the link from an individual invoice, open the invoice and unselect the Allow Online Payment checkbox.
