Monday, Oct. 31: Apocalypso lunch, Lotus for dinner

There are many and varied sounds to experience for Halloween day and night.

Jack Rentfro and the Apocalypso Quartet will entertain noon-1 p.m. during the WDVX Blue Plate Special at the Knoxville Visitors Center, 301 S. Gay St. The show will also be broadcast live on WDVX 89.9 and 102.9 FM.

Tuesday, Nov. 1: Bird & Beyond

"Lion Kin" characters Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki, Nala and Simba, from left below, will appear in "Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic" at 7 p.m. at the Civic Coliseum, 500 Howard Baker Jr. Ave.

As the title implies, the ice-skating spectacle celebrates a century of Disney films and characters, from Mickey Mouse to Buzz Lighyear — and beyond.
