5 Ways to Celebrate Peanut Butter Lovers Month

In my opinion, peanut butter is a food that should be celebrated daily. But, I’ll settle for a month-long peanut butter party.

Since 1995, November’s been given the gift of peanut butter, being anointed National Peanut Butter Lovers Month. It’s estimated that in the U.S. alone, 65 million tons of peanut butter will be consumed this month. Seems like a proper celebration to me!

Now to suitably arm each and every one of you with some ideas on how to get your peanut butter fix this month, here’s a list of five yummy-to-your-PB-lovin’-tummy foods jam packed with peanut butter goodness.

Peanut Butter Nature Valley Granola Bars
spacer Throughout the week, my daily snack intake usually revolves around fitting in a Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bar. Although I love all flavors of the scrumptiously crunchy Nature Valley series, I keep going back to the peanut butter. There’s something about PB mixed with granola that I just can’t shake.

Reese’s Puffs and Cap’N Crunch
I consider myself quite the cereal aficionado. Then again, I’m sure anyone who depends on cereal for his/her livelihood would do the same. It was tough to choose just one PB-laced cereal as a favorite … so I didn’t. Reese’s Puffs, with their one-two chocolate-peanut butter punch, absolutely could not be left off the list. But how could I omit the Peanut Butter Cap’N himself, then look him in the eye next time I walk down the cereal aisle? So alas, both Reese’s Puffs and Peanut Butter Cap’N Crunch made this highly coveted list.

Anderson Peanut Butter Pretzel Nuggets
spacer Another regular player on my snacks team is the pretzel. Now pretzels do a fine job holding their own; they don’t really need help from outside parties. But take a pretzel nugget and jam some peanut butter into it, and you’ve got yourself pure deliciousness. Take it up a notch and dip these Anderson Peanut Butter Pretzel Nuggets into some dark chocolate for an extra good time.

Nutter Butters
spacer Any chance I get to glorify Nutter Butters, I’m all over it. I am absolutely obsessed with their creamy peanut buttery-ness and have been known to sustain myself on a diet of nothing but Nutter Butters throughout certain periods of my life. Obviously I don’t recommend this eclectic diet to anyone … at all … ever. But I definitely recommend eating Nutter Butters, in moderation, this month.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich
How could I possibly write about Peanut Butter Lovers Month and not highlight the almighty PB & J sandwich? It would be blasphemous. So here it is, likely the most ingenious food mash-up ever created: peanut butter + jelly + bread. Now there are equally divine variations: the peanut butter and honey sandwich, the peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich, the peanut butter and pickle sandwich (really?), etc. But props must be given to the original trendsetters, peanut butter and jelly.

I intend to consume all foods mentioned above in very large quantities throughout November to properly celebrate Peanut Butter Lovers Month. And I encourage you to do the same.

What foods will you be celebrating with?
