TiE (the Indus Entrepreneurs)launched their local Chapter on 27 September 2012 in Tampabay region. 180 guests attended the gala start-up event held at the Indian Cultural Center (ICC) in Tampa. Keynote speakers included : Mr. PK Agarwal, CEO - TiE Global; Dr. Kiran Patel, Chairman, TiE Tampa -who spoke about his "Road to Success"; and Mr. Ashok Rao, Chairman, Whodini and TiE Global -who spoke about "Mistakes to Avoid and Formulas for Success for Entrepreneurs." TiE Tampa Board of Directors attended the event including : Kunal Jain, President; Bruce Elliott, Executive Director;Dr. Sudhir Agarwal, Treasurer; Dr. Chandresh Saraiya, SIG Healthcare; Satya Shaw, Sponsorship and Membership; and Dr.Kiran Patel, Chairman of the Board. TiE Tampa invites potential Charter Members and General Members to to attend their events and "market test" their start-up ideas. Most speakers come from other locations and many fly in from Silicon Valley.There is time for Q and As with the speakers and time for networking before and after the event. Local entrepreneurs presented their start ups after the keynote talks followed by a membership drive and future program announcements. TiE Tampa intends to work with other entrepreneurial organizations in the area such as the Florida Venture Forum, Score, TB Innovation Center, etc. TiE Tampa will start a Youth Entrepreneurs program (TYE) for high school students next year. Its' TYE program has earned national acclaim for its' curriculum. The local Tampa entrepreneurial community warmly welcomed their newest member, TiE TampaBay.
