WE WANT TO HELP YOU LEAD A SAFE AND SECURE DIGITAL LIFE

The internet opens the door to a new digital world - but it's also full of beasties that can cause problems if you're not careful

How we can help

We've identified three key steps to stay secure online:

  • The first thing to do is make sure you keep all your passwords away from prying eyes. Don't save them in a document on your computer, and don't write them on a Post-it note and stick it on your machine! We know it's annoying to have to remember so many passwords, but the alternative doesn't bear thinking about.
  • The next step is to make sure your computer has up-to-date anti-virus software installed. We offer McAfee Virus software with our home broadband package and alternatives are available too.
  • Finally, if you're using a smartphone or a laptop in public, treat your personal security with just as much care and attention as when you're on the computer at home. If you're mobile banking on the train, for example, keep your password hidden. And if you're using a public computer, such as one in a library, don't forget to log out once you're done. You get the idea.
