As Cocktail Week winds down, it's time to vote for the best cocktail in Philly right now. Not the best of all-time, or the pretty-good-but-can-be-great-with-a-little-tweaking. Just the very best boozy tipple in our area at the moment.
Here's how it works: On Monday, we asked all of you to nominate the cocktail you think should be included in the field. Tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. we will shut down the polls, and the top 3 vote-getters will be considered finalists.
Then, the Eater editors and a group of alcohol professionals will hold a secret ballot and assign point values to each drink and a winner will be declared at 4:30 p.m..
It's a known fact that people head out for brunch to help combat the nausea and aches that accompany the hangover. But, we've all ended up having to bolt to the bathroom when one impending urge or another forced us to make a quick decision during that cure-all brunch.
To help you plan for the worst case scenario, we've listed 9 Hangover-Friendly Bathrooms that have clean facilities, fresh aromatics, and lots of space to let you do what you need to do. They also have a history of minimal foot traffic, as nothing makes you feel worse than someone pounding on the door while you suffer the consequences of last night's poor decision.

In case you forgot, it was a Philly scientist from Thomas Jefferson University who did the leg work and found the scientifically-proven cure for the hangover. Michael Oshinsky induced headaches in rats by giving them ethanol, and then got 'em all better by giving them caffeine and anti-inflammatories, which means the answer is coffee and Tylenol. In honor of the Almighty Hangover, we tracked down our favorite bartenders, brewers, distillers, and professional boozers (wine and beer critics) to find out how they handle the pain the next morning. We've left the names off the list (to protect those who suggest borderline illegal, or at the very least, dangerous, cure-alls), but kept the info intact.
Welcome to Eater's Hangover Power Hour. For the next hour, we'll be focusing on the dark side of Cocktail Week: Hangovers. Whether it's from one too many Manhattans, martinis, or copious amounts of whiskey, we've all been there. Stay here for insider tips on hangover remedies, hangover-friendly meals, and how to pretend everything is cool when you're sweating to death and vomiting on the hour.
Marc Vetri loves the holidays in Philly [Photo: PhilaFoodie]
Our bald Italian overlord, Marc Vetri, often appears on the pages of national food rags dishing on the hot new spots in Philly, or giving up the recipes to his amazing pasta dishes. This time though, Vetri graces the new issue of Food & Wine magazine where he gives a spot-by-spot guide to enjoying the holidays in Philly. And as usual, it's well done.
Vetri gives a shout out to the legendary cannoli-maker Isgro's, the Italian Market, the Barnes Foundation, and the very cinematic decorations that hang throughout Rittenhouse Square. Props to Vetri for not name-dropping any part of his own mini-empire, too.

Hop Sing Laundromat proprietor Lêe called out two hotels on Twitter last night for lifting his signature cocktail recipes: "I am completely flattered that 2 major hotels in Philly have put my libation on their menu WITHOUT giving me credit 4 it but pls do it rite!" He wouldn't name the offender, but told Eater they were using Captain Morgan instead of El Dorado Rum. Yikes. [Twitter]
