Overview

General Assessment of Instructional Needs (GAIN®), created by Wonderlic, assesses adult learners in core English and Math skills using a single test form for all levels to ensure accurate placement within a range of adult education and workforce development programs. There are two test form versions available for pre-testing and post-testing to better assess learner progress. After just 90 minutes of test time, receive a detailed diagnostic report with Scale Scores, Educational Functioning Levels (EFLs), and instructional suggestions.

The U.S. Department of Education's National Reporting System (NRS) has approved GAIN for workforce and adult basic education programs. State education agencies that receive federal funding through the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) can now choose GAIN.
