Welcome to the Sierra Club - Vermont Chapter's Website
Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. This is the place to find out more about our upcoming events and outings. Also, we'll keep you up to date on the important environmental issues in Vermont. Feel free to look around, and contact us if you have any questions. We're working on a number of projects that we believe are critical to outdoor life in Vermont. Of these projects, probably the most significant is a new campaign called Our Forests, Our Future. This project will link the forests of the Green Mountains, White Mountains, Adirondacks, and Maine with significant wildlife corridors. Members are being asked to build a movement to create such corridors that span from the northern Connecticut River to the Nulhegan Basin and from the northern Green Mountains to the New York border. Our work in Vermont is part of a regional effort of long term forest preservation and the national Sierra Club's Resilient Habitats campaign. Hopefully, you can join us as we strive to keep the mountains of Vermont green. We recommend attending one of our events or outings. To find out more, you can give us a call (802-229-6399). Or email us (sierraclub.vt@gmail.com). Or pay us a visit. Our office is located at 149 State Street in Montpelier (05602). The latest news about the Vermont Chapter can be found on our Scrapbook, too. Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to the body and soul. - John Muir, Sierra Club Founder
