MUSEUM MISSION STATEMENT
It is the
mission of the Harry Browne Memorial Library & Museum to introduce the public
to Harry Browne's political and investment books, speeches, radio
shows, articles, seminars, and philosophy of life; educate the
public about Libertarian philosophy; make accessible to the public
Harry Browne's campaign material from his 1996 and 2000 U.S.
Presidential campaigns; and make accessible to the public Harry
Browne's web site.
As the
only facility of its kind, the Harry Browne Library Museum serves as
a unique resource for anyone from school children to future
Libertarian candidates. As an archive devoted to educating people
about Harry Browne's work, Libertarian philosophy, Libertarian
Presidential campaigns, and the advancement of free markets the
Library Museum fills an informational void. The Library Museum
fulfills this mission by serving as a physical educational facility
and an electronic virtual library at www.HarryBrowne.org, in an
effort to educate people in the United States and around the world.

PLANS TO ACHIEVE LIBRARY MUSEUM GOALS

Preserve
and make accessible to the public Harry Browne's work including his
books, articles, speeches, radio and eTV broadcasts, photographs,
and web site.

Preserve
and make accessible to future Libertarian candidates Harry Browne's
1996 & 2000 Libertarian Presidential Campaign materials.
-
Republish
some of Harry Browne's out-of-print books.
-
Publish
Harry Browne's unpublished manuscripts and articles.
LIBRARY
Upon Harry
Browne's death, his widow, Pamela Wolfe Browne, donated much of his
personal library to the Downsize DC Foundation of which he was a
Co-founder and Director of Public Policy, to friends, and to
charity. However, in addition to the exhibits, the Library Museum
houses approximately 200 books and magazines. Some of the collection
are political and economic books that Harry Browne collected over
his lifetime and were particularly special to him; some are books
that were gifts from the authors during the 1996 and 2000 U.S.
Presidential campaigns with signed messages; and some are books
written by Harry Browne which are either leather bound, published in
a foreign language, or autographed to his wife, Pamela.

Preserve
the collection of hundreds of 1996 and 2000 U.S. Presidential
Libertarian campaign press clippings.

Preserve
the 1996 and 2000 U.S. Presidential Libertarian campaign
photographs.

Preserve
Harry Browne's political and economic books, articles, speeches,
radio broadcasts, and television broadcasts ~ including transferring
reel-to-reel, audio, and video tapes to CDs and DVDs.
-
Purchase
and place a gravestone on Harry Browne's gravesite.
DONATIONS/GIFTS TO THE LIBRARY MUSEUM
The library exhibits need
to be more properly preserved ~ especially the photographs,
newspaper clippings, and posters that are unprotected and aging.
Also, the reel-to-reel, audio, and video tapes need to be
transferred to CDs and DVDs. In addition, a gravestone needs to be
purchased for Harry Browne's gravesite. Individual gifts are welcome
and will be greatly appreciated.
