Week 21

The growth of your baby slows down in week 21. More organs are functioning and growing stronger, and the legs are beginning to reach relative proportions. And you weigh around ten to fifteen pounds, with your uterus approximately half and inch above your belly. Hormone-associated signs are likely becoming more stable.

With the baby being able to hear, you can actually talk and read to him/her. Studies say that babies like to hear their mothers’ voices while they are still inside the womb. You can even sing t her/him or listen to music together.

Here, you can also start buying baby clothes, as the day of the delivery gets closer every day. Since you already know the sex of your child-to-be, you can choose which colors fits best for him/her.

Week 22

Thin but around a pound in weight, your baby’s eyelids and brows are developed. His/her brain rapidly grows as well. More senses are developing at the same time, and the lungs are maturing.

Night times during week 22 may mean that you suffer indigestion and heartburns, as your abdomen has less and less space to enlarge. The added weight will get you more backaches, and the crunch of space will send you to the bathroom every other time. Also, you might have swelling feet, and it would result in walking uncomfortably, but you can wear slippers or soft footwear for lesser complains of pain.

Week 23

By now, your baby’s body is more proportioned and his/her bones harden even more. Jabs, flips, kicks, and other movement are much more evident.

There are instances where delivery is needed at this point. With early delivery happening, there is still a chance that your baby will survive. In spite of that, do hope that your baby stays longer in your belly. To make certain you will not have this delivery, see the doctor and get yourself checked and be informed of the risks and precautions.

Week 24
At this stage, the baby is around 1 1/3 pounds in weight; he/she gains about six ounces from last week. This added mass is due to the bone and muscle still developing. The features on his/her face have formed, body parts are now in place, and his/her eyes are complete. He/she even begins to have REM or rapid eye movements.
Your doctor has given you lots of things to do the entire stretch of your pregnancy, and he may advise you to do prenatal exercises during this week. These exercises can help relieve the backaches you have been suffering for the past months, the stress that you have been under, as well as the swelling of parts of your body (legs, feet, etc.) due to poor blood circulation.
