There are many Wodehouse societies worldwide; here are the
ones we know about:
The P.G.
Wodehouse Society (UK). Yes, you guessed right,
this society is based in the UK, although it has members
worldwide. Their excellent newsletter is called Wooster
Sauce and is well worth the price of membership, which
is £15 per annum.
The P.G. Wodehouse Society. Based in The Netherlands,
this is the oldest Wodehouse society and the only one whose
existence PGW knew of in his lifetime. Please direct information
and membership inquiries to
Marcel Gijbels, Lammenschansweg 89, 2313DK Leiden, The Netherlands,
or try this email address: pgwssecretariaat@hotmail.nl.
The Drones Club is based in Belgium. You can send them email or
write to Mr. Kris Smets, Gijmelbergstraat 32A, 3201
Langdorp.
The Russian Wodehouse
Society is run by Sir Watkyn Bassett (aka Mikhail
Kuzmenko); contact him at Post Box 4, R 125167, Moscow.
The Swedish Wodehouse Society
or the WodehouseSällskapet has over 200 members (probably the greatest
membership per inhabitant of any Society!). They issue several journals
called Blandings Blandning (Blandings Mixture) and a yearbook called
Jeeves. Sven Sahlin, the chairman, may be reached at sahlinsven@gmail.com, by telephone at
+46 708 228810, or by writing him at Katarinavägen 22, 18451 Österskär, Sweden.
