Kidney Walk Spotlight
Meet The Brandon Family
In November 2010, we took our son, Tommy, to the doctor for a routine visit. We didn’t realize that it would eventually lead to Tommy being diagnosed with Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis (MPGN), a rare progressive autoimmune kidney disease with no known cure; half the kids with it go into renal failure within 8 to 10 years. The first six months after diagnosis were extremely difficult for everyone, but our path was made easier because of the National Kidney Foundation. We are honored to be serving as one of the 2013 National Kidney Walk Ambassadors to help spread awareness and understanding of kidney disease and its risk factors.
