im a young nudist

hi im a young nudist and have been practising naturism for a while now. is it ok for me to be nude in public changing rooms eg swimming pool also i have had a few looks on nude beaches when im nude infront of other nudists. im 18 and all of the others ive seen at the beaches are at least 30 up to 60. is it ok for me to be there, where are all the other younger nudists??

1. Sure it's OK, as long as it's somewhere that nudity is accepted, like locker rooms and of course at nudist venues. Unfortunately,there aren't enough young folks that particiapate. A lot of people lose their inhibitions as they get a little older. I'm sure people are probably just happy to see the younger people involved. We all feel like we're being looked at when we first start out on the nude scene. Don't worry about it.
2. I agree with what Randy said. Enjoy your feelings and go with them. You're 18 and not doing anything wrong as long as you're in a place that nudity is allowed. Dave "Cold Weather Sucks"
3. Hi nudist-teen, I suppose the lack of younger nudists has to do with the area you're in. Here in Italy we see all ages at the nude beaches and since I usually take my vacations at nude resorts in France, I can tell you that it's the same there. It is true that in Europe there is much less of a taboo about the naked human body. Peer pressure is also a factor. In any case, do what you're comfortable with and enjoy it, and as the others have said, do it where it's accepted.
4. I have a 23 year old son, and there are definitely far fewer nudists his age. I really don't have any nudist friends myself. It's difficult meeting nudists anywhere other than online.
5. Karen, You stay it's difficult meeting nudists in real life. Have you visited any of the nudist clubs, nonlanded as well as landed that are all over CA? Getting back on topic... AANR members are welcome to attend the youth camps and Nude U each year. That's one good way of our youth meeting others in their age range. Cheri Doing what I can to positively promote nudism
6. No, I haven't. I haven't heard of any in this area, and I'm not sure how far I'm willing to drive. The nearest beach is about 45 minutes away, but anything else is just a lot further than I am willing to go. It's hard to find the motivation to travel somewhere knowing everyone is going to be a stranger, you know what I mean? But, I do see the irony that if I don't do it then I won't be meeting any nudist friends in the first place.
7. I want to applaud you for having the courage to live the nudist life style, even though it may seem to you like the life style is heavily weighted on the side of people that are older than you. I know I speak for many of my nudist friends when I say that it is always encouraging to see someone your age enjoying naturism. Are you in a position to be able to envite some of your open minded friends to come with you? You can and will have a positive impact on younger nudists. Just keep wearing your "own kind of hat" so to speak. And thank you again!
8. Why don't we find many young people involved in nudism/naturism? Good question. Many younger kids are conformists. They don't stray too far from the group norm for fear of being singled out as different. Whether we, as a group, like it or not, nudism/naturism is not exactly mainstream. Younger kids are also much more sensitive about body issues. I think this makes them even less likely to bare all in front of a group. If you were not exposed to nudism/naturism as a child I think it takes more maturity, more willingness to break out of mainstream behavior to bare all. Thanks to all who support/promote this form of self-expression.
9. I agree younger and even older kids are conformists. I have talked to our two boys about wanting to wear sweatpants on gym day and not wanting to change before gym. They said if someone ever changes before gym, others will call them gay. It's sad, I know, but our boys have a better body image than their friends. 10. well i love being nude, i cant quite pluck up the courage to ask friends yet. might this summer though. my girlfriend knows i sleep nude and like being nude in the house but she doesnt share the same feelings. although she might come to a nude beach with me, ill ask her later on in the year. i dont have any sexual problems with nudism and dont think its about sex or anything. which its not but i found it hard all last summer being naked on the beach infront of others without getting an errection. i dont know why, it just happens. i dont think its that i find the other person attractive. it happens even when im clothed on my own.
11. Don't be embarrassed by that. You're an 18-year old guy---spontaneous erections are much more common at your age. Don't let it stop you, just discreetly roll over or cover yourself, no one's gonna blame you. Kudos for you for not being a conformist and going for what you want. 12. Karen, I know exactly what you are going through. I was a nudist before the internet. I went to a nude beach but I was young and very shy, so it was difficult to walk up to strangers and say hi. Now I'm 20yrs older, have more money and time. The places to go are too far away and my non nudist family has needs I must attend to. Now that I am more open about nudism, thanks to the internet, I've made friends, but no one willing to try. GBA
13. I'm a self practicing nudist in Iowa, it is impossible to go nude anywhere besides your own house, the Iowa bylaws even forbid people from skinny dipping it really stinks, I'm 18 but yet I fell like I'm 5 being as restricted as to where I can go, any suggestions.

16. I am a 19 year old college student who joined the forms today. I have been spent the last half year enjoying the freedoms of being free, but not as much as I wish. My family seems to not be too supportive of the nudity idea (only my mom knows right now and here at college, I am able to be nude more often. however, being a college student, I have a roommmate so I can't be nude as much as I would like, and I don't have any friends I can hang out with in my natural form (if you call all the hair i have natural) so I have to stick to in my room. I am at a libiral college but I don't dare go out of my room as I worry about getting in trouble. This evening, my roommate walked in on me while nude for the first time. about an hour ago, he walked back in with some guy I barely know. while he didn't make any mention then, I could hear him ask my roommate about me, to which my roommate responded "hes like that alot". Unforchently, I am not nude as often as I would like (personally, I would have no problem going to class in the nude assuming it was warmer) so that was untrue. My roommate thinks I am nude more often as a while back, when I first felt conferrable with telling my friends, I told her girlfriend (who was my first friend up here and one of my best friends). I told her because I knew she had wanted to do life drawing before they had to cancel that night for some reason, so I knew she was ok with being in the nude and told her if she ever wanted to join me and hang out in the nude, I would be fine with it. Her boyfriend (my roommate) found out accidently and got angry because she didn't tell him everything and thought I was interested in the sex. She had to go into more detail but now he seems to be ok with it...well he is in here right now and he hasn't said anything about it, though we do have a blanket separating our rooms. But soon I am to go see my friends, so I guess I have to put cloths back on.. From the guy with his eye on the sky
17. I know how you feel freebodylove, I am originally from iowa too. I have gone skinny dipping but in my pond while in extreame rural iowa. of course, I am at college in WI so its legal to skinny dip (I think) but really cold. There is 1 nude beach in WI and I am about 4 hours away from it and I have no car, so sorry karen, but I think I have you beat. From the guy with his eye on the sky

Seems like all of the reports that I have seen recently have reported a decline in nudism among younger people.This is odd because the fashions that are being worn are becoming more reveling, even in the schools. Some universities, used to have unofficial nudist clubs...such as the Texas Longhorn nudists.This would definatly be a way to meet other young nudists.The college clubs would have outings..become their own non-landed clubs.I would think that tis would be the best way to find people of the same age interested in nudism...nudism 101 if you will:)
19. So I was just at church today and I have always noticed the lack of young people there, and today I thought about how church and nudity have that same issue...few young people. At the church I go to, 75% of the people there are over 50 (guessing age) I think I was the only person from college there, and the number of kids is never more then 5. The same kind of goes for water excrisize at my home town....at my Y, I was the only person under 20 in the group. My Y was actually a general exception as most of the Ys near my home town average only 1 or 2 swimmers under 40. From the guy with his eye on the sky
