About Engine29
Engine29 is a project about constructing an argument for arts journalism. As the ways we communicate about culture change, journalism about culture changes too. In the age of everyone’s-a-critic it’s important to (re)assert the values and aspirations of cultural journalism at its best. Engine29 was an experiment that brought together 29 arts journalists from across America and around the world for ten days in November 2011 to work on six projects that poked and prodded notions of what arts journalism is… or might be. This website is a document of what they found out.
