REKKITS REKKITS

successful record shopping might be one of the best
excitements life has to offer.
today was definitely a good day for vinyl and this is
what i brought home:

- MCD / OKAY
a great ep by MCD who is already releasing since 1995.
being the host of the infamous kitchen in brixton, london
he knows exactly how to push a track forward by his
spitting. the OKAY ep carries a heavy grimey original, a
cheesy-esque but still grooving 4/4 remix and two slower
tracks on the flip side with guests like roots manuva.
MCD's going to be on tour with the dead prez in the uk,
more info HERE

- ROGUESTATE / SOUND LIKE (benny page rmx)feat. BONGO CHILLI
a drum&bass track with a jungly summer feeling to it. we'll see
how you gonna react to this, might become one of my next hit tunes...
ROGUE STATE seems to be a producer from sheffield working with
an mc called BONGO CHILLI. more info at our most used platform
of today, myspace of course.

- BABY G REMIXES feat.WARD 21 + RASTA YOUTH / THIS IS HOW WE ROLL
i like honest jons records already for their carefully designed sleeves.
this one is especially eye-catching and colorful, real love.
i don't know the original song by terry hall & mushtaq
that is being remixed here but it must be a good one according
to the intense ragga versions on the 12". honest jons records is
here for a long time now their website has still to come...

- PLASTIC LITTLE / NOW I HOLLER, THE JUMP UP
plastic little are from philly. they work on labels like sound ink.,
maybe broklyn beats and in this case something called tonearm.
the 12" features two tracks, one of them being produced
by buddy diplo sporting a guest appearance by spankrock.
cool track with a beautiful female voice indie hook line,
don't really know if it's playable in a club but at least great to singalong to at home.

more soon, it's not over...
