Video Game Orchestre in Boston and Kid Icarus: Uprising OST release!

The very famous Video Game Orchestra, led with a masterly hand by his founder Shota Nakama, will give a concert the October 7th in the Symphony Hall of Boston with an very attractive program. Three composers will be present: Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, Vagrant Story...), Kinuyo Yamashita (Castlevania) and Noriyuki Iwadare. The fans in Boston will have the chance to listen, for the first time ever, Grandia in live with a real orchestra! Noriyuki Iwadare, with Sakimoto-san and Yamashita-san, will be there too, and will take part of the meet&greet session with the VIP tickets owners.
Le célèbre Video Game Orchestra, mené par main de maître par son fondateur Shota Nakama, se produira le 7 octobre prochain au Symphony Hall de Boston avec un programme des plus alléchants. Trois compositeurs seront présents : Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, Vagrant Story...), Kinuyo Yamashita (Castlevania) et Noriyuki Iwadare. Les fans de Boston auront donc l'occasion d'entendre, pour la première fois, Grandia en live avec un véritable orcheste ! Noriyuki Iwadare, en compagnie de Sakimoto-san et Yamashita-san, sera bien évidemment présent, et participera notamment à la session meet&greet avec une partie des spectateurs ayant acquis un billet VIP.
We told you last April about the music of the 3DS game of the year, Kid Icarus: Uprising. A well-composed OST, by various famous composers: Yasunori Mitsuda, Motoi Sakuraba, Yûzô Koshiro and also Noriyuki Iwadare. Good news, this OST is going to be released in Japan, published by the Japanese label Sleigh Bells of Yasunori Mitsuda. On that occasion, the French label Wayô Records offers the possibility to buy it outside Japan, with a card signed by Mitsuda-san himself. A great chance to discover this surprising music, including those of Iwadare-san!

Another current project is an album which is to be released on April 25th with Haruka Shimotsuki, a well-know singer of anime scores and video games. Named Koboreru Suna no Aria (零れる砂のアリア), there are also wonderful composers like: Michiko Naruke (Wild Arms), MANYO, Yoshitaka Hirota (Shadow Heart) and of course Iwadare-san! It's a great album that you cannot miss!
L'autre projet du moment est un album édité ce mois-ci (le 25 avril) de l'artiste Haruka Shimotsuki, chanteuse habituée des bandes originales d'Anime et de jeux vidéo. Intitulé Koboreru Suna no Aria (零れる砂のアリア), cet album contient également son lot de compositeurs d'exception : Michiko Naruke (Wild Arms), MANYO, Yoshitaka Hirota (Shadow Heart) et bien-sûr Iwadare-san ! Un bien bel album, que nous vous conseillons de découvrir !

New 2012 Projects!

Since the beginning of 2012, the projects of Noriyuki Iwadare have been going on well! The 3DS Nintendo's current event game is the fantastic Kid Icarus: Uprising (新パルテナの鏡) and among the composers, you will find Motoi Sakuraba (A friend of Iwadare-san mainly known for his pieces of music on Star Ocean and Tales of), Yuzo Koshiro (Actraiser, Ys), Masafumi Takada (No More Heroes), Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger/Cross, Xenogears/saga) and of course Noriyuki Iwadare himself! Unfortunately, no album is to be released yet... so you will have to play the game if you want to listen to the wonderful scores of music composed by these exceptionally amazing composers!
En ce début d'année 2012, les projets de Noriyuki Iwadare avancent bien ! Le jeu-évènement du moment sur Nintendo 3DS est le fantastique Kid Icarus: Uprising (新パルテナの鏡), qui se paie le luxe de compter parmi ses compositeurs Motoi Sakuraba (ami de Iwadare-san connu notamment pour ses musiques sur Star Ocean et Tales of), Yuzo Koshiro (Actraiser, Ys), Masafumi Takada (No More Heroes), Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger/Cross, Xenogears/saga) et bien-sûr Noriyuki Iwadare ! Don't think that this is a new album of Iwadare-san ! Frets of Valmar is a legally downloadable little EP, made by Stemage, with arranged musics from Grandia II. This project is currently associated to a fundraiser in order to collect money for Japan relief. Then, you can download this EP and make a donation which will be entirely sent to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
It will be a good deed and a rediscovery of the musics from Grandia II! Like Iwadare-san said: totemo kakkoii yo! ("that's really cool!").
Détrompez-vous, il ne s'agit pas d'un nouvel album de Iwadare-san ! Frets of Valmar est un petit album téléchargeable gratuitement réalisé par Stemage, comprenant des arrangements du jeu vidéo Grandia II. Ce projet permet aujourd'hui de participer à une collecte de fonds pour les sinistrés du Japon. Vous pourrez alors faire une donation lors du téléchargement de ces musiques, qui sera intégralement reversée à la Croix Rouge japonaise.
Une bonne action, et une redécouverte de la musique de Grandia II ! Comme dirait Iwadare-san : totemo kakkoii yo! ("c'est vraiment cool !").

Last february and april, two arrangement albums for musical boxes of Hakuôki games were released. Out of the two volumes published, Iwadare-san wrote the entire arrangement for the first one and co-wrote the second one with Michiko Naruke, the talented composer of the RPG series Wild Arms.
However the biggest news is currently the video game music festival, 4star Orchestra, from September 30th to October 2nd, 2011. The programme: Earthbound Papas, the current band of the composer Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy, The Last Story), the duet Masashi Hamauzu (co-composer of Final Fantasy X and composer of Final Fantasy XIII) and Aki Kuroda (the pianist of the FFX and FFXIII Piano Collections), the singer Shigeru Matsuzaki (famous fr its openings in Space Adventure Cobra), and above all the Iwadare Noriyuki Special Band!
Iwadare-san will play keyboards, with Yasufumi Fukuda on his guitar, WoLya on his bass, Roze Horiguchi on the drums and Michiko Naruke as a guest and keyboards. Apart from Shi On, it's the same band as in the Japan Expo festival in July 2010 !
En février et avril dernier sont sortis deux albums d'arrangements pour boîte à musique des jeux Hakuôki. Sur les deux volumes édités, Iwadare-san signe l'intégralité des arrangements du premier et partage ceux du second avec Michiko Naruke, compositrice de talent de la série des RPG Wild Arms.
Mais la grosse information du moment est la tenue du festival de musique de jeu vidéo au Japon, 4star Orchestra, du 30 septembre au 2 octobre 2011. Déjà au programme : Earthbound Papas, le groupe actuel du compositeur Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy, The Last Story), le duo Masashi Hamauzu (compositeur de Final Fantasy X - avec Nobuo Uematsu - et de Final Fantasy XIII) et Aki Kuroda (pianiste des albums Piano Collections de FFX et FFXIII), le chanteur Shigeru Matsuzaki (célèbre pour ses génériques de Space Adventure Cobra) et enfin le Iwadare Noriyuki Special Band !
Nous retrouvons donc Iwadare-san aux claviers, avec Yasufumi Fukuda à la guitare, WoLya à la bass, Roze Horiguchi à la batterie et Michiko Naruke en guest et aux claviers. En dehors de Shi On, la chanteuse, il s'agit donc du même groupe que dans le festival Japan Expo de juillet 2010 !

For the beginning of 2010, we are happy to learn that the website RPGamer declared the soundtrack of Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star on PSP as the second best RPG's OST in 2010! It is a good opportunity, if you don't know Lunar, to discover the series and its music composed and arranged by Iwadare-san!
We remind you that in 2009, the editor in chief of the website SquareEnix Music Online had declared Noriyuki Iwadare as the Artist of the Year, for his works on Grandia Online, Gyakuten Kenji (Phenix Wright) and Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star.
En ce début d'année 2010, nous sommes heureux d'apprendre que le site RPGamer a désigné la bande originale de Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star sur PSP en tant que seconde meilleure musique de RPG en 2010 ! Une bonne occasion, si vous ne connaissez pas Lunar, de découvrir la série et les musiques composées et arrangées par Iwadare-san !
Nous rappelons qu'en 2009, le rédacteur en chef du site SquareEnix Music Online avait décerné à Noriyuki Iwadare le titre d'Artiste de l'Année, au titre de ses travaux sur Grandia Online, Gyakuten Kenji (Phenix Wright) et ce même Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star.

New video games projects
December 2010
To conclude the year 2010, which was full of projects (including two showcases for Iwadare-san in France), there are two new video games.
The first one is already famous: Gyakuten Kenji 2 (from the series Phenix Wright, Ace Attoney), whose soundtrack is to be released on febuary 28th, 2011 in Japan.
Iwadare-san composed the music to this game, as he had composed those of Gyakuten Saiban 3 and arranged the jazz and orchestral albums of the series.
Pour clore une année 2010 très riche en projets (dont la présence de Iwadare-san en France pour deux concerts), voici deux nouveaux jeux vidéo. Le premier est déjà connu, puisqu'il s'agit de Gyakuten Kenji 2 (de la série Phenix Wright, Ace Attoney), dont la bande originale est prévue pour le 28 février 2011 au Japon !
Iwadare-san compose la musique de ce jeu, comme il aura composé la musique de Gyakuten Saiban 3 et arrangé les albums jazz et orchestaux de la série.

The second project is not so well known, because it's a little game of seduction on PSP, Photokano, which is not to be apparently released outside Japan. The official game's website has just opened, developped by Kadokawa Games (specialized in portable consoles). We don't have much information, except that the game is to be released in 2011.
Le second projet est moins célèbre, puisqu'il s'agit de la musique d'un petit jeu de séduction sur PSP, Photokano, qui n'est a priori pas prévu en dehors du Japon. Le site officiel du jeu, développé par Kadokawa Games (spécialisé dans les consoles portables) venant d'ouvrir, nous n'avons pas d'autre information, sinon que le jeu sort au Japon en 2011.

Iwadare-san is proud to announce that one of his current projects, the new opus of the series Langrisser, i.e. Langrisser Schwarz.This game will be Online and designed by the taiwanese studio Gamania.
Iwadare-san is of course the music game composer and was invited to attend a talkshow about his music in Langrisser Schwarz. This MMORPG will not only be played in Japan but also worldwide!
Please try and have fun with this new title!!

Iwadare-san est bien sûr le compositeur du jeu, et a été invité à participer à un talkshow autour de sa musique dans Langrisser Schwarz. Ce MMORPG ne sera pas seulement jouable au Japon, mais également partout dans le monde !

It is the end of summer already, but Iwadare-san is still at work as usual... soon, we will put some pictures, taken in the incredibly Japan's scorching heat in August, at Matsumoto!

We were talking about a new track by Iwadare-san, for the game DeathSmiles 2X. Here is the album, available in 2010, May 15th in Japan. It is a rock arranged tune (with Fukuda Yasuhumi on guitar), and this multi-artists' album contains other musics from Fukui Kenichirô (The Black Mages), Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) or even Itô Kenji (Romancing SaGa). The arranged tune by Iwadare-san is the twelfth, Meikaishô Stage Final-1.
Nous vous parlions d'une piste composée par Iwadare-san pour le jeu DeathSmiles 2X, voici donc l'album, prévu pour le 15 mai 2010 au Japon. Il s'agit d'un arrangement Rock (avec Fukuda Yasuhumi à la guitare) pour cet album comprenant la participation de plusieurs autres compositeurs comme Fukui Kenichirô (The Black Mages), Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) ou encore Itô Kenji (Romancing SaGa). La piste arrangée par Iwadare-san est la douzième, Meikaishô Stage Final-1.

Iwadare-san worked on one track for a XBox 360 game, DeathSmiles 2X Pack Contents Card. It was the first time that he composed for this series. The game will be released in may 2010 in Japan only.

Iwadare-san, "Guest of Honor" for the next Japan Expo!
Extraordinary news! Iwadare-san will the Video Games Guest of Honor to the Japan Expo festival, from the 1st to the 4th of July in France. Japan Expo is very famous in Japan and it is the most important worldwide festival on Japanese entertainments, COFESTA and the Ministry of Japanese Foreign Affairs of Japan contribute to it every year!
