With 265 acres of parkland home to more than 4,000 animals, there’s plenty for all our guests to experience and enjoy. The Accessibility Map is meant to help facilitate your visit by providing general information on the accessibility of zoo grounds and exhibits. Please use it along with the Zoo Map for complete information regarding exhibits and rides.

Ride Access for Guests Using Wheelchairs
Boarding requirements and accommodations
Wild Asia Monorail
Accessible for manual wheelchairs up to 26" wide. Guests using motorized scooters or wheelchairs wider than 26" (which includes Zoo rental wheelchairs) have the option of being assisted by a member of their party either into an appropriate-sized wheelchair (available at Monorail platform), or, if possible, onto a Monorail seat.*
Bug Carousel
Accessible for manual wheelchairs.
4-D Theater
Wheelchair accessible by ramp, including motorized scooters. Guests have the option of being assisted by a member of their party into a theater seat. Ask a staff member at the entrance for assistance.
Zoo Shuttle
Wheelchair accessible by ramp, including small motorized scooters. Guests with large motorized scooters may leave their scooters at the Shuttle stop, be assisted on board by a member of their party,* and travel round-trip.
*Please note that Zoo staff members are not permitted to physically transfer guests from wheelchairs.
Telephones
A Text Telephone (TTY) is available at Guest Relations – on Astor Court, adjacent to the Sea Lion Pool.
Security & First Aid
In case of emergency, please notify Security at 718-220-5063.
First Aid is located next to the Bronx Zoo Store.
Service Animals
Guests who rely on service animals may bring them into the Zoo, provided that the animals remain properly leashed. Guests are solely responsibility for the care and control of their animals.
