slow waking up from hibernation
I installed the Dell ISO and I was expecting the computer to wake up faster from hibernation. It doesn't. Waking up from hibernate takes a full minute, while booting from scratch takes 80 seconds. Waking up from suspend takes about 10 seconds, which is ok, and Windows wakes up from hibernation in 10 seconds. I would expect ubuntu not to fall behind so much. Does everyone experience an excruciatingly slow wakeup time? If there's no way to make it wake up faster, can someone at least explain to me why waking up is so slow?

Re: slow waking up from hibernation
I'm having the same problem. Actually I'm using Linux Mint, but it's based on Ubuntu.
I have a Dell 1535. It takes longer to wake it up than to boot it from scratch. Suspension to ram works fine on Gnome, but it's very slow when I use KDE. |

Re: slow waking up from hibernation
Wish I had something useful to say but I just wanted to bump and say I'm having the same problem. It's definitely faster to boot than to wake up. I've been looking into the problem, there's a guide here that I've been going through but so far I'm not finding much.
I really expected Linux/Ubuntu to run a lot more smoothly on my new Dell Studio 15 since Dell is selling Ubuntu laptops and all, but it hasn't been very smooth at all :-/

Re: slow waking up from hibernation
I'm using Lucid right now and I noticed that it wakes up from hibernation almost instantly but hangs for a long time before I can enter my password into the lock screen.
