My Top 10 Memorable Events of 2012
Dec 28 2012
Not that I’m a journalist, but I’m probably more accurate than most pundits. Here is my personal list of the 10 most memorable events of 2012 – in no particular order.
1. Sandy Hook – a horrible tragedy fresh in our minds and has sparked new debate about gun control. some sensible. some crazy.
2. Election 2012 - I was going to list the presidential debates, but choices of GOP Nominees who almost made it and their gaffes, the Trump distractions, the amount of money spent by Super PACs and their non return on investment, and Carl Rove’s meltdown stood out for me
3. Hurricane Sandy – it was memorable for several things. the amount of devastation it brought, it was IMHO an election game changer coming after tough debates when the RNC keynote speaker praised the President on the job he was doing, and this became the moment when the Governor and Mayor of New York declared that we living with the reality of climate change.
4. Felix Baumgartner’s space jump - was pretty cool.
5. NASA’s transition – The Space Shuttle’s final victory lap and the landing and possible discovery of organic material on Mars by the Curiosity rover.
6. Aurora Colorado Shooting – shocking and senseless
7. Benghazi – the the tragic loss of life, and the political mess afterwards started by claims of a cover up
8. Syria – Tens of thousands are killed and hundreds of thousands flee as rebels clash with government forces.
9. Petraeus – The head of the CIA gets done in by some emails.
10. Elmo – nuff said.

Let us prey

There Is the first and last time for everything. I’ve never been to Church’s chicken before and on a whim I decided to go.
The first thing that was wrong was that none of the staff had any kind of uniforms on.
I didn’t know if they had a casual Friday thing going on but they weren’t even trying to match. it was jeans, T-shirts, tattoos and weave.
When I got back to my desk I couldn’t even recognize what was that was supposed to be eating. I could tell it was fried…deep-fried but that was it.
I said a special prayer just so that we wouldn’t have any kind of disease and ate.
I’d like to come up with some more witty observations about this trip – this misguided trip, but my stomach is hurting so bad. I haven’t had a stomachache like this is probably I was a kid.

Life
Nov 25 2012
Just when you think you have everything figured out life throws you a curveball.
They say there is nothing new under the sun.
What you’re going through others before you have gone through.
Although that provides you little comfort. Life never fails to surprise.
Although I take objection to playing out a Tyler Perry plotline

The Side ways
Nov 21 2012
we didn't watch them together like this, I'm immature like that
I got the wife to watch Sideways with me all the way through. It started off slowly but has a satisfying finish. there is a scene near the end where protagonist played by Paul Giamatti is responding to some news that it’s worth the price of the movie. I tear up anticipating it and knowing that the wife is going to cry makes it a done deal. She enjoyed it and was rooting for his character.
That anticipation has backfired on me in the past, like say, when we got married and I was expecting the full waterworks and she left me hanging on the cry duet.
As an aside, it’s there a study out that shows that over time you inherit your spouse’s traits? Growing up I had early memories of being scratched by a cat and others of being chased by and bitten by dogs. I reeked of fear whenever I was near animals and they gladly exploited that fact.
As I got older I tolerated them but was still visibly uncomfortable around them.
Then, my first marriage was to a Type A personality, cat-loving/owning Peta member. My current spouse is more off a free spirit who has been known to cry on a movie trailer and has owned dogs most of her growing years.
Now I’m a cat/dog person and could live in a house with both under the same roof.
I’ve got the lint of spousal behaviors woven into my psychic being now and I hate being a prisoner to some of the qualities I know I didn’t always possess.
Does this make me an empath?

I know that it’s only twitter. I know this. and I severely judge people who mostly only follow celebrities and have one-sided conversations with them.
but this is MHP. and I’m a Stan.
so for a geek like me, this non-answer response is bigger than when Badu retweeted me, and that time when Jill Scott and I locked eyes when I was 3rd row at her 2001 Greensboro concert.
i feel like taking the rest of the day off. fornicate your couch, negroes!
