ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 890GX Motherboard @ OCC
“I knew under water I could push the voltage a bit more, so I topped it at 1.5V and pushed the reference clock and multiplier a bit more and was able to boot at 4.3GHz but it was not stable enough to pass benchmarks so I tapped them down a bit and found a sweet spot at 4.226GHz, where everything ran stable and the temperatures were still low. For the final overclocking settings, the processor is at 4.226GHz (216.7MHz x 19.5) at 1.5V and the memory was set at 1733MHz with timings of 7-7-7-20.”

Scythe Grand Kama Cross SCKC-2000 Heatsink @ FrostyTech
“In this review Frostytech is testing Scythe’s Grand Kama Cross heatsink, the supped-up successor to the Kama Cross. This time around Scythe have sized it up by selecting a 140mm PWM fan that spins at 500-1300RPM, instead of the standard 120mm size. The Grand Kama Cross is a quiet all-around heatsink, at most producing 45.9 dBA noise and at best a nearly inaudible 29.8 dBA in our real-world tests.”

OCZ Technologys Vertex 2 Pro 100GB Solid State Disk @ TweakTown
“As time goes on we are seeing what was once enterprise-only technology being weaved into consumer products. Dual core processors have eliminated the need for dual processor systems used for A/V production. In the storage field we have the adaption of 10K platter speeds and technological advances like Native Command Queuing.
Today we are looking at the OCZ Technology Vertex 2 Pro. What makes the Vertex 2 Pro so special is that it uses one of the first true enterprise grade solid state controllers and pairs it with low cost consumer grade Multi-Level Cell (MLC) NAND flash memory.”

Thermaltake V3 Black Edition Case @ ThinkComputers

The V3 is designed to be very functional, but at a very low cost. You can pick this case up for $50 online! This is an extremely low cost for any case, especially a Thermaltake case. This case features an all black design, mesh front bezel, and a 120mm blue LED fan. Let’s see if this is the perfect case for your next budget build.”

Windows PC-Fax Directly from Adobe Acrobat PDF @ BenchmarkReviews
We here at Benchmark Reviews are probably just like you, when we hear “digital communication” we think e-mail, Facebook, twitter, or maybe a discussion forum. But there is a form of digital communication that predates all of these: the facimile. There are times when you just have to send a fax. Financial, legal, and medical matters often require that a signed form or letter be sent via fax. OK, but what if you don’t own a fax machine? It seems that fewer and fewer of us have fax machines these days, especially with the growth of e-mail and web-based fax services. But what if you don’t have one of these either? Well, luckily for us, Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 include a fax service. And Adobe Acrobat provides a perfect multiplatform application from which to fax. With Windows & an Acrobat PDF file, you can fax directly from your PC. We’re not only going to show you how to use the Windows fax service, we’re also going to review ! a simple USB fax modem hardware solution from Rosewill if your computer didn’t come with one.

Sapphire 5770 Vapor X @ Bjorn3D
“Many of us are always doing whatever we can to get that last MHz out of our equipment. This includes going out and buying an aftermarket cooler to allow us to increase the voltages, or buying a better overclocking motherboard. If you go with an aftermarket cooler for your video card then a few problems arise. First you have to take off the stock cooler then carefully apply the VRM coolers, ect. Why not just buy a card with an aftermarket cooler already installed? The answer to that most of the time is, ‘But there are no aftermarket cooled cards available.’ Today we happen to have an aftermarket cooled 5770 by Sapphire. This card gives you all the advantages of aftermarket cooling without the hassle of installing your own aftermarket cooler.”

ASRock P55 Extreme Intel P55 LGA 1156 Motherboard @ ThinkComputers
“Prior to about a year ago, ASRock boards were definitely in the economy class. Oh, they were decent, stable motherboards, but they just had the look and feel of inexpensive. Not so today, ASRock’s boards are just as nice as those built by the “household name” companies like Gigabyte, Asus, etc. Today I will be looking at the little brother to the P55 Deluxe, the ASRock P55 Extreme. I suppose “little brother” isn’t the correct term since the two are basically the same board with only one change I can see at first glance, but the savings are significant. As with all A SRock boards, you get what is a full-featured motherboard at an economy price. Read on to check out the P55 Extreme!”
